ACTING I   PRINT

This course offers an exciting approach to basic acting / auditioning techniques. Designed for actors of all ages and levels of skill, all are welcome to come and play! In this course students will develop personal acting technique, stage presence, as well as gain a general knowledge of acting and auditioning for stage and screen. Intensive study of two hours once a week. (12 hour course)

Week #1: Introduction to Acting

• Basic Actor Warm Ups (Voice / Body)
• Acting Games
• Journal Exercises

Homework Assignment #1:
Observe a stranger, journal daily diet / experiences. Bring "priceless object" to next class!

Week #2: Improvisation
• Introduction to Improv
• Improv Games
• Object Endowment
• Improv Exercises / Story Telling
• Monologue Selection

Homework Assignment #2:
Monologue selection, journal daily experiences. Bring selected monologue to class!

Week #3: Auditions / Monologues
• Character Analysis
• Monologue Construction
• Actor Introductions
• "Actor Homework"
• Cold / Luke Warm Readings
• On / Off Camera Auditions
• Cue Cards

Homework Assignment #3:
Memorize monologue, journal daily experiences.

Week #4: Monologue Workshop
• Rehearse and Perform Monologues

Homework Assignment #4:
Memorize "Open Scenes" Journal daily experiences.

Week #5: Scene Work
• Work with Scene Partners
• Improvisation / Objective Work
• Rehearsal Time
• Cold Reading Scene Work

Homework Assignment #5:
Rehearse monologues and open scenes.

Week #6: Final Performances / Graduation
• Perform Monologue
• Perform Open Scene
• Graduation Ceremony


Course Fee:
$66.00 per week class ($400.00 total)

Deposit:
First class payment of $66.00 will reserve placement in course.

Student must be paid in full by the fourth week of class.
